Earn frequent flyer miles and hotel points for your charitable donations

There are some great offers out there to get rewarded for your generosity to charities. Several of the airlines and hotels are currently offering bonus points for your charitable contributions. Here is a run down of the current offers:

American Airlines

Delta Airlines
5000 Skymiles for a minimum donation of $100 to the Martin Luther King Jr National Memorial Fund.

Spirit Airlines
A $5 donation equals 5000 Spirit Airlines miles.

Marriott Hotels
18,000 Marriott Hotel points for a $50 donation to the Red Cross.

Point donations
Starwood will match your donation of your own Starwood points to the Red Cross. A 4000 Starwood point donation equals $50.

United Airlines
You can donate United miles here to Haiti.

Hilton Hotels
You can donate Hilton points here.

3 month CLEAR membership for free for SPG members

You can sign up for Starwood at the link on the right. Once you’ve done that, and if you’re going to be travelling soon, sign up for a 3 month CLEAR membership for free by simply entering in your Starwood number.

It will be set to auto-renew, by once you get approved, you can turn it off. In the fine print it says “Your Clear Account is set by default to auto-renew. You can turn off auto-renew at any time by logging into your Clear account at flyclear.com/myaccount and changing the autorenewal setting in “My Profile”.”

2009 hotel bonuses

Here are some great hotel bonuses for the upcoming year.

Marriott is offering 2500 extra points after your first stay between February 1 and April 30, 2009. The maximum you can earn is 25,000 points on this promotion. Make sure your earning preferences are set to Marriott points.

Hilton has double points between January 6 and April 6 at these hotels

Priority Club is giving 3000 bonus points for every third night, up to 30,000 points between January 12 and April 30.

Starwood has 500 bonus points for each qualifying night, plus 5000 additional for every 10th night between January 7 and April 30.
